Every year we have a day that is super popular because of its numerical date. This year 08/18/18 was the most popular date to get married on and it happened to fall on a Saturday so automatically this because the day to get married in 2018. When Erik & Carol told me where their wedding was I had never heard of Weddings Northwest. Weddings Northwest is a private residence located on Fox Island right on the water! It is a beautiful location with beach access and a view looking east towards Tacoma.

The couple’s wedding was a beautiful sunny day and they lucked out because the smoke that we now get every August hadn’t come in yet. Erik & Carol had been together since high school and both had just graduated from college. The couple had decided to do a first look which always makes the day go so much smoother.

After the first look and all the important portraits, it was time for the ceremony. The couple got married right in front of the water. Their ceremony was so sweet and one of my favorite moments was of Erik getting teary-eyed while Carol and her father walked down the aisle. (This is a great example that a first look doesn’t mean you still won’t get emotional during the ceremony.)

During their ceremony, the couple did a tradition I had never seen before they both did communion and drank the wine from a Nuernberg Bridal Cup it is a cup that both parties can drink from at the same time. It’s very interesting and such a great story. I highly recommend looking up its legend.

After their ceremony, it was time for the reception where we ate yummy Italian food, ate from a table full of delicious Italian desserts including an amazing cake with chocolate covered strawberries on it and we got to have Gelato!!! Overall their wedding was a pretty amazing event to be part of! I would just like to take this opportunity to thank Carol & Erik for allowing me to be part of their wedding!
